Aileen Blight is having very strange and realistic dreams that leave her unsettled. In her dreams she is a queen in another time or world. She is pregnant for the second time (having a three-year-old daughter) and is very excited because she is going to learn about her baby's destiny through the "Oracle".

In her dreams, she is M'Anier Amaya, the Queen of Sanescid. When Aileen dreams that she, as Amaya, is having her baby, she gets a very disagreeable surprise, not that she has twins, but that the first born comes with a mark by his right eye, revealing that he has "Oksaleb" blood. Oksalebs don not belong in Sanescid and, neither she, nor King Kuiril have even met one. This makes King Kuiril not recognize this baby as his and to reject his wife. In his eyes, she had cheated on him. The second baby is born soon after and is identical to the first one, but without the mark. King Kuiril then, recognizes this child as his only legitimate son. He accuses his wife and punishes her with imprisonment. The problem is that Amaya had never cheated on her husband. How did that happen?

Aileen's last dream is when the queen dies alone.

Seven years later Aileen is with her husband visiting Munich, to a special surrealist exhibition at the Pynakothek, and who do they meet? Zigor has been invited to the same museum, to participate after winning an award as a young surrealist artist. 'How could that be?' wonder the Blights.

Zigor hates his twin brother, Sendoa, mainly because Sendoa had everything that he never had. The last time they had seen each other had been when they were 4 or 5 years old. One night, he has a terrible nightmare where he dreams that his brother is on the verge of death. What is he to do when he is planets away?
